Handmade & Narrative Jewellery by Eleanor Watson
I create handmade narrative jewellery inspired by stories, memories, places and the small details of everyday life. My work includes one-of-a-kind pieces and small collections of brooches, rings, pendants, necklaces, earrings and small wearable sculptures.
Each piece is designed and handmade by me, with materials and techniques chosen for their colour, texture, shape and meaning.

What is narrative jewellery?
I see narrative jewellery as wearable sculpture with a story or personal meaning associated with the design and materials. A piece might begin with a memory, a place, a relationship, a poem, an object or something noticed in nature. The meaning does not always need to be obvious to the viewer; it can carry a private story for the person wearing it — something to remind, comfort, inspire or encourage them.
Handmade & Narrative Jewellery
My jewellery is made for people drawn to individual, story-led jewellery rather than mass-produced designs. I enjoy combining colour, pattern and unusual materials to create pieces with a strong sense of character and meaning.
Water and waterways are recurring influences in my personal work, reflecting my experience of living on a narrowboat and my fascination with the contrasts between boats, wildlife, industry and the natural landscape. One example is my Gather–River–Breath collection.
Materials & techniques
I work across silver, enamel, glass, semi-precious stones and mixed media, choosing materials for their colour, texture and relationship to the idea behind each piece. Traditional and contemporary jewellery techniques, including soldering, cold connections, stone setting and enamelling, all form part of my practice.

Bespoke Jewellery Commissions
I also create bespoke narrative jewellery for clients who want a one-of-a-kind piece connected to their own story, memories or meaningful objects. For the full commissioning process, visit the Bespoke Jewellery Commissions page, or contact Eleanor to discuss an idea.
